Cathedral of Christ the Savior
The Cathedral of Christ the Savior, towering over Moscow, is not only the most important spiritual center of Russia, but also a magnificent architectural monument. Built in the 19th century in honor of the victory over Napoleon, the church was completely restored in the 1990s, regaining the status of one of the most magnificent cathedrals in the country.
The architecture of the Temple impresses with its grandiose size and refined beauty – it is a true masterpiece of Orthodox art. You will see boards with descriptions of foreign battles: the capture of Paris, the overthrow of Napoleon and peace in Europe, sculptures made of white marble, an unusual iconostasis in the shape of a tent and magnificent murals, which were worked on by the best craftsmen. Visitors to the temple can also visit the observation deck and enjoy panoramic views of the capital.
