The name of the hotel, Maidens (translated from English as "maidens"), refers to the geographical location of the hotel next to the Maiden Field. This is a historical area in the bend of the Moskva River between the Garden Ring and the Novodevichy Monastery.The field was named after this monastery and was given to it in 1685 by Princess Sophia.According to another version, girls were gathered here before being sent to the Golden Horde as a tribute.
